Tourist visa

British nationals DO NOT need a tourist visa to enter Argentina, for up to 90 days, which can be extended for another 90 days  at Dirección Nacional de Migraciones. For other countries, please check Do I need a visa?

Requirements:

 

Philipine nationals

For tourist visas, Phillipine nationals 16 years and over who have lived in a country other than the UK during the last five years, for longer than three months, have to provide a Certificate of Criminal Records of each country involved. This document must be legalised by local Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the Apostille, or by the Argentine Consulate in the jurisdiction of the issuing country. Moreover the document must be submitted with its translation into Spanish. It is not necessary to legalise the translation.

Important: for applicants who are staying in private homes instead of hotels, processing time will be normally around one month. A letter of invitation will be required and must include name, address, telephone number and ID number of the person who invites.

Chinese nationals and Taiwan passport holders

In addition to the general requirements, Chinese and Taiwan passport holders need to submit:

- (Employed applicants): three last salary receipts

- (Students): letter of introduction from educational institution

- If they have a credit card: three last statements

- In case of internal trips within Argentina:  flights and hotel reservations

- Letter declaring overseas trips done in the past, with approximate dates

Australian, Canadian and American nationals: ENTRANCE RECIPROCITY FEE (DECRETO 1654/2008)

 
Since 28th December 2009, nationals of Australia, Canada and US traveling on tourism or business and holding ordinary passports, have to pay an entrance reciprocity fee on arrival at Ezeiza International Airport in Buenos Aires. This includes Australian, Canadian and US citizens who have obtained a regular residence in any Mercosur or Associate country and who hold any of the valid travel documents mentioned in the ACUERDO SOBRE DOCUMENTOS DE VIAJE DE LOS ESTADOS PARTE DEL MERCOSUR Y ESTADOS ASOCIADOS (decisión DMC Nº 18/08).
 
This fee doesn´t apply to:
 
- Argentine nationals who are also citizens of Australia, Canada and the US, presenting passports of those countries at Immigration control.
- Holders of Australian, Canadian and US ordinary passports, in transit or on-ward travelling
- Holders of Australian, Canadian and US ordinary passports who have a valid residence in Argentina
- Holders of Canadian passports who have previously been granted a business visa
- Holders of Canadian, Australian or US official or diplomatic passports
 
 
Fees:
 
- Australian nationals: USD 100
- Canadian nationals: USD 70
- US nationals: USD 131
 
Fees are paid in US dollars or argentine pesos, at the selling exchange rate of Banco de la Nación Argentina at closing time of last working day.
Amounts are subject to change in accordance to reciprocity towards argentine nationals applying for visas for those countries.
 
 
Entrances allowed:
 
Payment of fee will be valid as a requirement for entrance into Argentina for one or more times, depending on the traveller's nationality, as it follows:
 
- Australian nationals: one entrance.
- Canadian nationals: one entrance
- US nationals: Multiple entrances, for up to 10 years since first entrance.
