Retired people or applicants who wish to settle in Argentina and have a steady monthly income may apply for a temporary visa for up to one year, after which successive extensions may be granted by Direccion Nacional de Migraciones (DNM). DNM may ask for certified translations of certain documents already presented with a simple translation at the Consulate General when applying for the visa. All foreign documents to be lodged directly at DNM have to be translated by a certified argentine professional.

Only for the RETIRED: letter granting the pension, accompanied by three last bank statements showing monthly credits of at least the equivalent to 2.000* argentine pesos. Income must be generated by the pensions system. In case of international private insurance, a STEADY INCOME Visa must be applied for. Authenticity of letter and of bank statements must be certified by a solicitor or a notary public. Solicitor/notary public's signature must be legalised by the Apostille stamp affixed by the Foreign Office. Letter must be accompanied by translation into Spanish. Translation doesn't need to be certified. *When applying with spouse, children or parents, minimum income required is the equivalent to 2.000 argentine pesos per person.

It must specify origin of income (interests, profits, shares, property lettings, etc.). Income must be produced outside of Argentina. Letter must be original and must be accompanied by three last bank statements showing credits. Authenticity of letter and of bank statements must be certified by a solicitor or a notary public. Solicitor/notary public's signature must be legalised by the Apostille stamp affixed by the Foreign Office. Letter must be accompanied by translation into Spanish. Translation doesn't need to be certified. *When applying with spouse, children or parents, minimum income reqired is the equivalent to 2.500 argentine pesos per person.

Original or certified copy of Full Birth Certificate legalised by the FCO with the Apostille. Applicants not born in the UK must have the certificate issued in their country of origin and legalised by the competent authorities with the Apostille or by the Argentine Consulate belonging to the area in that country. This document must be submitted with its translation into Spanish and will be retained for processing by argentine authorities and not given back to the applicant. If the applicant has changed his name and the birth certificate has not been amended, the original Deed Poll will be required, legalised by the FCO with the Apostille and translated into Spanish. This document will be retained by agentine authorities.
Original or certified copy of full Marriage Certificate (if applicable) legalised by the FCO with the Apostille. Applicants not married in the UK must have the certificate issued in their country of origin and legalised by the competent authorities with the Apostille or by the Argentine Consulate that country. This document must be submitted with its translation into Spanish and will be retained for processing by argentine authorities and not given back to the applicant.
Original or certified copy of Final Decree (if applicable) legalised by the FCO with the Apostille. Applicants not divorced in the UK must have the certificate issued in the country of origin and legalised by the competent authorities with the Apostille or by the Argentine Consulate in that country. This document must be submitted with its translation into Spanish and will be retained for processing by argentine authorities and not given back to the applicant.
(Applicants 16 years or older) Certificate of Criminal Records from any country other than the UK (UK certificate is not required) where the applicant has lived during the last five years, for longer than six months. The document must be legalised by local Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the Apostille, or by the Argentine Consulate in the jurisdiction of the issuing country. The certificate must be submitted with its translation into Spanish, will be retained for processing by argentine authorities and not given back to the applicant. It's not necessary to legalise the translation.
Payment of a consular fee
Notice: Spouses, parents and single children under 21 years old or handicapped children, can apply as accompanying persons. Same documents are required, except proof of retirement or steady income. A second marriage certificate is required if the spouse is travelling separately.
