Seaman or Crewmember Visa

This visa is intended for applicants who are planning to travel to Argentina to board a foreign ship as seamen or crew members.

British nationals DO NOT need a visa to enter Argentina for this purpose, whether paid or unpaid, for up to 90 days, which may be extended for another 90 days at Dirección Nacional de Migraciones. On arrival they should be able to demostrate that a maritime agent in Argentina requested their services. For other countries, please contact the Consulate General.

Requirements:

• Book an appointment calling on 0207 318 1340 Monday to Friday 9.30am to 12pm

• Submit valid passport or Seaman Identity Book

• Application form

• Three 4x4 cm passport photos

• Letter of approval from Dirección Nacional de Migraciones in Argentina to the maritime agent based in Argentina. Original copy must be submitted or sent by fax.

• Information in the letter has to match our electronic records

• Photocopy of all the documentation

• Payment of consular fee

The length of stay will be a maximum of 10 days, which may be exceptionally extended at Dirección Nacional de Migraciones for the same time.
