Fabián Marcaccio
(Rosario, 1963)


Studied Philosophy at Universidad Nacional de Rosario. In 1986 he moved to New York, and since 1988 he has presented several solo and group exhibitions around the world. In 1992 he held the exhibition “From Altered Paintings to Paintants”, at the John Post Lee Gallery (New York). In 1998 he exhibited his work at Sammlung Goetz in Munich, together with Jessica Stockholder. The following year he created “The Tingler”, together with architect Greg Lynn, a project developed for the Secession Building in Vienna, which combined architecture and visual arts. Lynn and Marcaccio got together once more for the “Predator” Project, which they presented in 2001 at the Wexner Center for the Arts, Columbus, Ohio, United States. In 2000 and 2001, he took his “Paintant Stories” to the Kunstverein in Stuttgart and Köln. Last year he also participated in the VII International Istanbul Biennial, Turkey. In 2002 he was invited to participate at Documenta 11, in Kassel, Germany, where he exhibited his work “Multiple – Site – Paintant”. Likewise, he presented one of his works at Summer Projects 2002 in PS1 Contemporary Art Center, New York. In 2003, he participated in the Triennial for Art by the Sea, Seascape in Confrontation, Beaufort, with his work “Confine Paintant”. In 2005 he presented “Ezeiza”, a large mural painting, at the Malba in Buenos Aires, “Paintant Archeology”, at FRAC Auvergne, Clermont-Ferrand, France, “Paintant Stories”, at DAROS Exhibitions, Zurich, Switzerland, and “U.N. Paintant”, at Galerie Thomas Schulte, Berlin, Germany. In 2009 he held the exhibition “Analytical Rage-Paintants”, at Galerie Thomas Schulte, Germany, and in 2010 he participated in "Con-jecto México”, at the Sala de Arte Público Siqueiros, Mexico. He lives and works in New York.
