Pan American Energy (PAE) invests US$1.4 billion


The investments in non-conventional energy by the Argentine oil and gas giant PAE will be spread across the provinces of Chubut, Neuquén and Tierra del Fuego. At the announcement, President Macri repeated his calls for Argentina to have its “own sustainable, diversified and secure energy matrix within the next 5 or 6 years”.

World Bank confirms financing of three new projects totaling US $845 million


“I want to congratulation Argentina for its efforts to try to reestablish a new governing framework and economic growth, without losing sight of protecting the most vulnerable,” stated World Bank Managing Director Sri Mulyani Indrawati in Buenos Aires.

Renault-Nissan to invest $US 800 million in Argentina


The investment will build a new industrial platform for automobile manufacturing at the Santa Isabel joint Renault-Nissan plant in Cordoba, and will help to create some 3,000 jobs. It will also be the first time Nissan cars will be manufactured in Argentina.

Argentina & Mexico commit to stronger commercial ties


At a meeting in Buenos Aires, President Macri and Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto committed to strengthening trade links in a bid to advance towards a bilateral trade agreement. "We genuinely hope that the agreements signed today will multiply and lead to integration on a much deeper scale: free trade between both countries," stated Macri.

President Macri attends inauguration ceremony of new Peruvian President


In meeting Peru's new President Pedro Kuczynski at his inauguration in Lima, President Macri stated that he hoped to deepen the already strong relations existing between both countries. "They are many areas for cooperation. Teams from both governments will be meeting as soon as possible so that we can start to get concrete results".

Government announces Access to Mobile Internet Program


Telecommunications companies, cooperatives, cable operators and ITC business confirmed investments of over US $5 billion to radically improve telecoms infrastructure across the country and boost access to updated equipment for millions of Argentines living in more marginalized areas.

President Macri launches national plan to fight violence against women


"We have to banish the cultural practices that normalize violence against women," stated President Macri at the announcement. The plan streamlines processes to identify, evaluate, monitor and prevent cases of gender violence, and sets out over 300 measures to support victims and at-risk populations, including equality education, networks of refuges for women, electronic tagging of violent men and access to microcredit to promote economic independence for women.

President Macri announces Commitment to Education initiative


The ground-breaking initiative, to which all provinces have confirmed their commitment, will make education obligatory to all children from 3 years old and extend school hours. An Institute for Quality Assessment & Equal Opportunities in Education will also be created under the program.
